System crash via unchecked NTFS run fields

Out-of-bounds read in the NTFS3 driver in Linux Kernel allows local users to crash the system by mounting a crafted NTFS image. The run_unpack() parser passes declared size_size and offset_size lengths to run_unpack_s64() without first checking that those bytes remain in the MFT attribute buffer. Exploitation requires local privilege to mount attacker-controlled media; the published impact is a system crash, with no disclosed ability to read or alter data.
