Local denial of service via leaked policy states
Published May 27, 2026 · Updated May 27, 2026
Memory leaks in Linux Kernel 6.16 through 6.18.26 and 6.19 through 7.0.3 allow local users to exhaust memory through a sysfs write. weighted_interleave_auto_store() either returns without freeing new_wi_state or replaces the old state while old_wi_state remains NULL, preventing cleanup. The write requires local low-privileged access; repeated enable requests retain prior states and can consume kernel memory until services are interrupted.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
