Guest shutdown via ignored CR3 restore failure

Denial of service in Linux Kernel 5.9 through 7.0.3 allows guest OS users to shut down a KVM guest during nested VM exit. The nested_svm_vmexit() path returns after a failed L1 CR3 restore, but callers ignore the error and resume L1 with corrupted vCPU state. An L1 guest able to run nested SVM and supply an invalid host CR3 can force its own shutdown; host confidentiality and integrity are unaffected.
