Local denial of service via raw PFN cleanup
Published May 27, 2026 · Updated May 27, 2026
Improper physical-address handling in Linux Kernel 6.19 allows local users to disrupt kernel availability through memfd_luo cleanup. The memfd_luo_retrieve_folios() put_folios path passes a raw PFN to kho_restore_folio(), which expects a physical address, and also processes sparse holes with PFN 0. A low-privileged local account must reach this cleanup path; public sources do not specify whether the resulting disruption is a hang, crash, or reboot.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
