Service interruption via racy ublk control reads
Published May 27, 2026 · Updated May 27, 2026
Race condition in the Linux Kernel ublk driver 6.19 through 6.19.3 allows local users to interrupt service via crafted io_uring commands. The driver repeatedly loads ublksrv_ctrl_cmd fields from a userspace-mapped io_uring submission entry, allowing concurrent writes to produce an inconsistent command snapshot. Exploitation requires low-privilege local access and a reachable ublk control path; the public record establishes service interruption but does not specify whether it is a hang or crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
