Kernel memory leak via XCC initialization failure
Published May 27, 2026 · Updated May 27, 2026
Memory leak in Linux Kernel allows local users on affected systems to consume kernel memory during AMDGPU ACPI XCC enumeration. In amdgpu_acpi_enumerate_xcc(), an -ENOMEM return from amdgpu_acpi_dev_init() exits without freeing the allocated xcc_info structure. Reachability requires the AMDGPU ACPI XCC initialization path to encounter an out-of-memory error; the source reports no demonstrated trigger or crash.
