Unauthorized transactions via unauthenticated Bluetooth commands
Published Mar 23, 2026 · Updated Mar 23, 2026
Missing authentication in Shenzhen HCC Technology MPOS M6 PLUS 1V.31-N allows physically proximate attackers to inject Bluetooth transaction commands. The application protocol accepts commands protected only by a recalculable one-byte XOR checksum and performs no HMAC, signature, or peer-identity verification. A Bluetooth adapter, terminal address, protocol knowledge, and a connection window are required; accepted commands can alter transaction parameters and query terminal data.
