Weak encryption in electerm before 3.9.5 allows remote authenticated users to read and alter bookmark and profile data via synced ciphertext. The encrypt and encryptAsync functions in src/app/lib/enc.js derive AES-192-CBC keys with the constant salt "salt," reuse an all-zero IV, and produce ciphertext without an authentication tag. Exploitation requires low-privileged access to synced ciphertext; common passwords can be tested across installations, and ciphertext bit flips alter stored configuration without detection.
