CVE-2026-45784

Heap corruption via undersized AES-KW-PAD output buffer

Published Jul 17, 2026 · Updated Jul 17, 2026

Out-of-bounds write in rust-openssl openssl 0.10.50 through 0.10.79 allows attackers to corrupt heap memory via crafted plaintext. CipherCtxRef::cipher_update_inplace validates an in-place buffer using input length plus block size instead of the larger padded key-wrap output size. Reachability requires an application to use an AES key-wrap-with-padding cipher with attacker-influenced plaintext whose length is not a multiple of eight; OpenSSL then writes up to seven bytes beyond the buffer.
