CVE-2026-45774Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary file read via unchecked path resolution

Published Aug 13, 2026 · Updated Aug 13, 2026

Path traversal in OSCAL Compass Compliance-trestle before 3.12.2 and 4.0.0 through 4.0.2 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files. The profile import path passes trestle:// URIs, relative imports[].href values, and back-matter resource links to LocalFetcher, which resolves them without checking that the result remains under trestle_root. A user must import or resolve an attacker-controlled OSCAL profile; successful exploitation discloses files readable by the trestle process.
