Unauthorized row actions via discarded view context
Published May 27, 2026 · Updated May 27, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Budibase before 3.38.1 allows remote authenticated users to trigger actions on rows excluded by view filters. The authorization middleware replaces a view source identifier with its underlying table identifier, and the row-action SDK then retrieves the supplied rowId directly without applying the view query. A BASIC-role user needs access to a filtered view with an enabled row action; the automation can receive hidden row data, modify excluded rows, or cause configured side effects.
