CVE-2026-45687Network attack vector

Authenticated data-export theft via upload mass assignment

Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026

Mass assignment in Rocket.Chat allows remote authenticated users to read other users' cloud-hosted data exports through crafted upload metadata. The sendFileMessage DDP method forwards every attacker-supplied file field except _id to Uploads.updateFileComplete, whose Object.assign result becomes the MongoDB $set payload without a field allowlist. Exploitation requires a regular account, an S3 or Google Cloud Storage upload backend, and a target user with an existing export at the predictable object path.
