CVE-2026-45681Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Memory disclosure via oversized fallback-buffer read

Published Jun 2, 2026 · Updated Jun 2, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in OpenTelemetry eBPF Instrumentation before 0.9.0 allows remote attackers to expose adjacent memory through telemetry. On a CPU mismatch, k_tracer selects the 256-byte fallback_buf but passes its unchanged real_size, which can reach 8KB, to HTTP large-buffer capture. Reachability requires context propagation, the tpinjector sock_msg path, nonzero HTTP large-buffer capture, and a CPU mismatch; the consequence is export of unrelated memory.
