CVE-2026-45679Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Telemetry disclosure and injection via raw Redis errors

Published Jun 2, 2026 · Updated Jun 2, 2026

Information disclosure in OpenTelemetry eBPF Instrumentation before 0.9.0 allows remote attackers to expose Redis error data in telemetry. In pkg/ebpf/common/redis_detect_transform.go, getRedisError trims a raw Redis error buffer and stores it in request.DBError.Description, which pkg/appolly/app/request/span.go emits unchanged as the span status message. The issue is reached when OBI traces Redis traffic and exports spans; no opt-in is required, so sensitive values enter telemetry backends and attacker-controlled text can contaminate downstream analysis.
