CVE-2026-45678Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Telemetry loss via unchecked Postgres BIND slicing

Published Jun 2, 2026 · Updated Jun 2, 2026

Denial of service in OpenTelemetry eBPF Instrumentation before 0.9.0 allows remote attackers to stop telemetry collection via Postgres traffic. The Postgres BIND branch in pkg/ebpf/common/sql_detect_postgres.go converts the payload to a NUL-terminated string, adds one to its length, and slices msg.data at that unchecked offset. Any attacker able to send malformed Postgres traffic to a service monitored by OBI can crash the agent for that node or process; confidentiality and integrity are not affected.
