CVE-2026-45675Network attack vector

Unauthenticated admin escalation via first-user race

Published May 15, 2026 · Updated May 15, 2026

Race condition in Open WebUI before 0.9.0 allows remote attackers to obtain administrator access through concurrent first logins. The LDAP and OAuth registration paths check whether the user table is empty before inserting a new user, so simultaneous requests can each select the administrator role from the same stale state. Exploitation requires a fresh instance with LDAP or OAuth enabled and concurrent logins; successful attackers can access user data, configuration, API keys, and connected model backends.
