Physical bypass of disk protection

Protection mechanism failure in Windows BitLocker allows physically proximate attackers to bypass disk protection on affected Windows systems. Microsoft has not disclosed the affected BitLocker component or the protection check that fails during the physical attack. Physical access to a BitLocker-protected device is required; the bypass defeats the intended boundary around encrypted data.
