Privilege escalation via stored post-content event handlers
Published May 15, 2026 · Updated May 15, 2026
Stored XSS in Vvveb before 1.0.8.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in a post editor's browser. The post content endpoint stores arbitrary HTML without removing event-handler attributes, and the admin editor inserts that markup into its DOM. An Editor account must poison a post and a user with edit_post permission must open it, exposing that user's session to takeover and administrative actions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
