Local code execution via out-of-bounds read
Published Jun 9, 2026 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in Windows Hyper-V on affected Windows releases allows local users to execute code on the host. Microsoft identifies the Hyper-V component and out-of-bounds read but has not published the affected function, input path, or erroneous bounds operation. Exploitation requires local access to a Windows host with Hyper-V enabled and yields arbitrary code execution in the host context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Published CVSS scores
No CVSS assessment is available in this record.
CVSS describes severity. EPSS estimates exploitation probability.
Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Public exploit references
No public exploit references are available in this record.
Labels summarize the accepted research assessment. They do not indicate a test against your environment.
