Authenticated root execution via WAF path traversal
Published Jun 10, 2026 · Updated Jun 10, 2026
Path traversal in Roxy-WI 8.2.6.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root on managed load balancers. The WAF rule save endpoint decodes 92 as a slash, checks only for service and configuration substrings, and moves the supplied body over SSH to the attacker-selected path with passwordless sudo. Group-admin access and a managed Linux load balancer are required; placing a cron file causes its commands to run as root on the next scan.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
