Local file disclosure via unsafe Docutils directives
Published Jun 2, 2026 · Updated Jun 2, 2026
Information disclosure in Zauberzeug NiceGUI before 3.12.0 allows remote attackers to read server-local files via crafted reStructuredText. The prepare_content() function passes content to Docutils without disabling file insertion or raw directives, so include, csv-table, and raw directives embed process-readable files in returned HTML. Exposure requires an application to pass attacker-controlled content to ui.restructured_text(); applications using only trusted static strings are unaffected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
