Local information disclosure via unchecked AppFuse file access
Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
Information disclosure in Android 14, 15, 16, 16-qpr2, and 17 allows local users to read protected files through AppFuse. AppFuseBridge.openFile translates a requested descriptor mode and opens the selected AppFuse mount and file without verifying that the caller may access it. A local user needs no additional execution privileges or user interaction; successful exploitation reads information outside the intended access boundary.
