CVE-2026-45404Public exploit

Process crash via unsynchronized baggage map access

Published Aug 24, 2026 · Updated Aug 24, 2026

Race condition in OpenTelemetry-Go 0.11.0 through 1.44.0 allows local users to crash instrumented application processes. The OpenTracing bridge writes bridgeSpan.extraBaggageItems in SetBaggageItem while correlation.MapFromContext reads and iterates the same map without synchronization. Exploitation requires correlation hooks and concurrent operations on the same bridgeSpan; a successful race terminates the hosting process without reported data disclosure or modification.
