Unauthenticated configuration disclosure via unguarded retrieval endpoint
Published May 15, 2026 · Updated May 15, 2026
Information disclosure in Open WebUI before 0.9.5 allows remote attackers to read live RAG pipeline configuration via an HTTP request. The get_status() handler for GET /api/v1/retrieval/ omits the authentication dependency and returns request.app.state configuration values directly. No credentials or user interaction are required; exposed data includes the RAG template, embedding and reranking models, and chunking parameters.
