Stored XSS via unsanitized SVG rendering
Published May 15, 2026 · Updated May 15, 2026
Stored XSS in Open WebUI before 0.6.31 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in another user's browser through a shared chat. SVGPanZoom.svelte inserts the saved SVG string through Svelte's raw HTML directive without sanitization, allowing attacker-supplied elements and event handlers into the DOM. Exploitation requires a victim to open the shared thread and grants the script access to sensitive application data and actions available in that browser session.
