Unauthenticated admin access via forged session cookies
Published Jul 16, 2026 · Updated Jul 16, 2026
Authentication bypass in StratonWebDesigners HireFlow 1.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to gain administrator access via a forged session cookie. In app.py, a hard-coded Flask secret_key from the public source signs session cookies, so arbitrary role and user_id values receive a valid signature. No credentials or user interaction are required; the forged cookie grants access to all application functionality exposed to an administrator.
