TEE secret disclosure via unchecked input pointers
Published Jun 10, 2026 · Updated Jun 10, 2026
Out-of-bounds reads in ESP-IDF 5.5.4 and 6.0 allow local users with REE code execution to disclose TEE-resident secrets. Secure-service wrappers in esp_secure_services.c and esp_secure_services_iram.c pass unchecked input pointers to M-mode peripherals, which read TEE-only addresses and return raw bytes, derived values, or oracle bits. Exploitation requires local code execution in an unprivileged REE application on an ESP32-C5, ESP32-C6, ESP32-C61, or ESP32-H2; it crosses the REE/TEE boundary but does not alter data or interrupt service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
