Account takeover via downloadable session files
Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026
Improper path restriction in pyLoad before 0.5.0b3.dev100 allows remote authenticated users to download other users' session files. The storage-folder setter rejects paths under PKGDIR and userdir but omits the Flask cache directory, so /files/get/ serves files from that directory. Administrative access is required to change storage_folder; a stolen victim session enables account takeover without interrupting the service.
