Account enumeration via differentiated password-reset responses
Published May 29, 2026 · Updated May 29, 2026
Observable response discrepancy in FreeScout before 1.8.219 allows remote attackers to enumerate valid helpdesk agent email addresses. The password reset endpoint renders alert-success for registered addresses but has-error and an explicit lookup failure for unknown addresses. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the absence of rate limiting makes bulk discovery of valid agent accounts practical.
