Server configuration overwrite via missing admin check
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Missing authorization in PoxenStudio MyBooks 3.41.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read and overwrite server settings. AdminSettings.post persists the JSON body sent to POST /api/admin/settings after confirming only that a session exists, without checking self.admin_user. A regular or registered-but-unactivated account is sufficient to expose stored SMTP and OAuth secrets, alter security and storage settings, or force a service restart.
