Code execution via unvalidated proxy parameters
Published May 9, 2026 · Updated May 9, 2026
Code execution in KDE Kdenlive before 26.04.1 allows attackers to execute code by inducing a user to open a malicious project file. The proxy-generation job splits the project-controlled proxyparams property into FFmpeg arguments and launches FFmpeg without rejecting dangerous options. Opening an untrusted .kdenlive file is required; crafted arguments can extract and load a shared library, enabling code execution and file exfiltration.
