CVE-2026-45180Network attack vector

Session hijacking via cleartext statsd identifiers

Published May 10, 2026 · Updated May 10, 2026

Cleartext transmission in Catalyst::Plugin::Statsd 0.10.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to read session IDs from statsd traffic. The plugin logs raw session identifiers to statsd instead of applying the middleware's HMAC-backed secure set operation. Exposure requires the statsd channel to cross an untrusted network without protection; captured identifiers can serve as authentication tokens.
