Local code execution via Python triple-quote injection
Published May 27, 2026 · Updated May 27, 2026
Code injection in claude-code-cache-fix 3.5.0 through 3.5.1 allows local users to execute Python at the Claude Code user's privilege. The statusline script inserts the hook's JSON stdin into a Python triple-quoted literal, so three apostrophes close the string and turn subsequent payload bytes into Python source. The victim must configure the script as Claude Code's statusLine and enter a hostile POSIX path; execution can read or alter local data and interrupt the session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
