Stored cross-site scripting via unescaped search preview
Published Jun 10, 2026 · Updated Jun 10, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in Weblate before 2026.5 allows remote authenticated users to inject HTML and CSS through unit metadata. The live search preview in weblate/static/editor/tools/search.js inserts API result.context and result.source values into an HTML string that jQuery appends to the DOM without escaping. Contributor access is required to store the content, and another authenticated editor must run a matching search before the injected markup renders in that editor.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
