Local file disclosure via external entity expansion
Published Jul 14, 2026 · Updated Jul 14, 2026
XXE in Symfony DomCrawler releases before 5.4.52, 6.4.40, 7.4.12, or 8.0.12 allows remote attackers to read local files. Crawler::addXmlContent() enables DOMDocument validation before loadXML(), causing libxml to process external file entities despite the LIBXML_NONET option. Exploitation requires a consuming application to pass attacker-controlled XML to this method and expose the expanded entity content; network entity retrieval remains blocked.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
