Unauthorized sendmail behavior modification via dash-prefixed recipients
Published Jul 14, 2026 · Updated Jul 14, 2026
Argument injection in affected Symfony Mailer releases allows remote attackers to alter local sendmail behavior via recipient addresses. In SendmailTransport -t mode, doSend appends each accepted address after the command options without an end-of-options separator, so a leading dash becomes a sendmail option. Reachability requires an application to pass an attacker-controlled recipient to the non-default -t transport; the documented impact is unauthorized modification of sendmail behavior.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
