Account takeover via Host-header reset-link poisoning

Published May 13, 2026 · Updated May 13, 2026

Host-header injection in CubeCart before 6.7.2 allows remote attackers to take over accounts through poisoned password-reset links. CubeCart derives CC_STORE_URL from the unvalidated Host header in ini.inc.php and inserts it verbatim into reset emails created by User::passwordRequest() and Admin::passwordRequest(). Exploitation requires a known account email and a victim click; the stolen one-hour token enables customer-account takeover or full store control for an administrator target.
