Account compromise via unsalted SHA-256 password hashes
Published May 27, 2026 · Updated May 27, 2026
Weak password hashing in LabReDeS WeGIA before 3.7.3 allows attackers with database access to recover users' plaintext passwords offline. html/login.php and controle/FuncionarioControle.php pass passwords directly to PHP's fast SHA-256 hash function without a per-password salt. Exploitation requires obtaining hashes from the pessoa table; recovered credentials allow authentication as affected users, including administrators.
