Stored XSS via unescaped user display name
Published Jun 12, 2026 · Updated Jun 12, 2026
Stored XSS in ApostropheCMS 4.29.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script in other users' browsers via a crafted full name. The admin bar's draft-version page-title tooltip renders the stored user display name as HTML without sanitizing or escaping it. A victim must view the affected tooltip in a multi-user project's administrative interface, where the script runs with that victim's browser privileges.
