Code execution via current-directory setup module
Published May 11, 2026 · Updated May 11, 2026
Code injection in OpenClaw before 2026.4.23 allows attackers to execute JavaScript locally through a malicious repository. The bundled plugin setup resolver treats process.cwd() as a trusted fallback and loads extensions//setup-api.js while resolving provider setup metadata. Exploitation requires a user to run an OpenClaw command from the attacker-controlled directory, executing code with that user's account privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
