CVE-2026-44970Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Sensitive-data exposure via unredacted telemetry arguments

Published Jul 16, 2026 · Updated Jul 16, 2026

Sensitive-data exposure in dbt Labs dbt MCP Server before 1.17.1 allows remote authenticated users to disclose tool arguments through telemetry. DefaultUsageTracker.emit_tool_called_event() serializes every argument value and passes it unredacted to dbtlabs_vortex.producer.log_proto. Telemetry is enabled unless an operator explicitly opts out, exposing raw SQL, credentials in vars, and internal node selections to dbt Labs.
