Authenticated service crash via unchecked deviceList copy
Published Mar 20, 2026 · Updated Mar 20, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda A18 Pro 02.03.02.28 allows remote authenticated users to crash its web service via deviceList. In sub_423B50, strchr splits each submitted rule at a carriage return, then strcpy copies both segments into a 160-byte stack buffer without checking their lengths. A valid management session and network access to /goform/setMacFilterCfg are required; the proof of concept demonstrates a service crash, while the disclosure reports return-address overwrite without demonstrated code execution.
