Service interruption via unbounded RESP length buffering
Published Jun 11, 2026 · Updated Jun 11, 2026
Uncontrolled resource consumption in Netty 4.1.134.Final and earlier and 4.2.0.Final through 4.2.14.Final allows attackers to interrupt service. RedisDecoder.decodeLength buffers network bytes for bulk-string and array lengths until a newline arrives without enforcing a maximum length. Unauthenticated network access to an application that uses RedisDecoder for untrusted Redis traffic and multiple concurrent connections are required; direct-memory exhaustion prevents legitimate connections from being processed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
