CVE-2026-4482

Private-key disclosure via inherited Windows file permissions

Published Apr 10, 2026 · Updated Apr 10, 2026

Information disclosure in Rapid7 Insight Agent before 4.1.0.2 allows local users to read agent identity material on Windows systems. The Windows installer leaves certificate files under bootstrap/common/ssl, including client.key, with inherited read and execute permissions for standard users. Any locally authenticated standard user can read the agent private key; the published record does not establish further host impact.
