Authenticated RCE via XML prototype pollution bypass
Published Jun 23, 2026 · Updated Jun 23, 2026
Prototype pollution in the n8n XML node before 1.123.43, 2.20.7, and 2.22.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute host code. Crafted workflow data bypasses the earlier prototype-pollution fix, although n8n has not disclosed the faulty XML-processing operation. Exploitation requires permission to create or modify workflows, and code execution depends on chaining another node that consumes the polluted prototype.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=< 1.123.43
- Affected versionversion=>= 2.0.0-rc.0, < 2.20.7
