Full-name disclosure via misnamed serializer predicate
Published Jun 12, 2026 · Updated Jun 12, 2026
Information disclosure in affected Discourse releases allows remote authenticated users to read hidden full names through group-post data. GroupPostSerializer names include_user_long_name? as the predicate for :name, but ActiveModelSerializers checks include_name?, so the predicate never runs and object.user.name is serialized. An authenticated account must retrieve a group post through the reaction-post association on a site with enable_names disabled; exposure is limited to the associated user's full name.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=>= 2026.1.0-latest, < 2026.1.4
- Affected versionversion=>= 2026.3.0-latest, < 2026.3.1
- Affected versionversion=>= 2026.4.0-latest, < 2026.4.1
