Uncontrolled recursion in jqlang jq 1.8.2rc1 and earlier allows local users to crash the process via mutually including modules. The process_dependencies and load_library functions repeatedly resolve a two-file include cycle without tracking active canonical module paths, exhausting the call stack. Reachability requires jq to process attacker-influenced programs or module search paths; the demonstrated consequence is process termination only.
