Unauthenticated page-image disclosure via ignored API key
Published May 26, 2026 · Updated May 26, 2026
Missing authentication in Kareadita Kavita before 0.9.0 allows remote attackers to read page images across all libraries. ReaderController.GetImage exposes /api/Reader/image through AllowAnonymous and accepts an apiKey without validating it or checking library access. Network access alone permits sequential chapterId and page enumeration of every served page image, including restricted-library content.
