Adjacent-network access via shared setup credentials
Published Mar 20, 2026 · Updated Mar 20, 2026
Hard-coded credentials in YI Technology YI Home Camera 2 2.1.1_20171024151200 allow attackers to join its setup-mode Wi-Fi. The wifi_setup.sh and hostap.sh scripts write the same literal 12345670 value as the WPS PIN, and hostap.sh also writes it as the WPA passphrase. Exposure occurs only during first-time setup or after a factory reset; an adjacent unauthenticated attacker can join the camera's setup network, while no broader device-control impact is documented.
