CVE-2026-44742Known exploitationNetwork attack vector

Moderator-session script execution via unescaped message subjects

Published May 7, 2026 · Updated May 7, 2026

Stored cross-site scripting in GNU Mailman Postorius 1.3.13 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script via a crafted email subject. The Held messages pop-up passes the API-returned subject to jQuery's html() sink instead of inserting it as text, so subject markup is interpreted by the browser. Exploitation requires a crafted message to be held for moderation and the pop-up to render it, placing script in the moderator's Postorius session.
